Quasimorph campaign walkthrough: how the 5 storylines unlock, route order to all 9 endings, story mission types, and avoiding quest-loot permadeath.
Quasimorph Walkthrough — Route the Storylines to All 9 Endings
Quasimorph isn't a linear RPG with one plotline — it's a turn-based extraction roguelike where the story arrives as contracts on the Magnum's mission board, gated by faction standing. Version 1.0 (Steam, July 31, 2026) shipped five storylines and nine endings inside 38 story missions, and a single playthrough won't see them all unless you route deliberately. This is the master walkthrough: how each arc unlocks, what order to run them, and how to stop clone permadeath from erasing your quest items.
Get the tactical foundation first in our beginner guide and combat guide — story missions assume you can extract alive.

Here's what you'll learn:
- How the campaign is structured around missions and reputation instead of cutscenes
- Every storyline and what it takes to start it
- The best first-playthrough route and how to prep a second ending run
- Which mission types lock Quasimorphosis at zero (your safety tool)
- How the 9 endings map to the 5 arcs, and how to reach them

The Campaign Isn't a Linear Story — It's a Contract Economy
Before you hunt endings, understand how Quasimorph delivers narrative. There are no long dialogue trees on the Magnum. Instead:
- Story beats arrive as flagged contracts on the mission board (the Stock Exchange screen).
- Faction standing gates the next step — you raise or tank reputation with corporations and rebel blocs through missions, and that flips which arcs open.
- Clone permadeath deletes unextracted quest items. A story key sitting on a dead clone is gone; some items don't spawn again on the same board rotation (Xiomara's quest items are notorious for this).
The economy guide explains the reputation and barter layer underneath, because every ending is partially a reputation check.
The single biggest campaign killer is dying with a flagged story item on your body. Treat "is a quest item on this clone?" as the first question before every mission. On Absentia moons (Mars, Phobos, Deimos) there's no Quasimorphosis meter, so they're the safe place to raise reputation without horror pressure.
Certification Before Any Storyline
Every arc page assumes you can survive a mid-tier mission. The good news: the safest way to build that base is also efficient. Do a Mars/Phobos/Deimos certification phase first (these are Absentia stations with no Quasimorphosis):
- 5–10 clean extracts using basic extraction guide habits.
- Learn sneak-first room clearing and combat stances so you don't eat damage in corridors.
- Unlock baseline Magnum upgrades: Navigation, Supply, Research from the Magnum upgrades guide.
- Keep every faction reputation above zero — sub-zero clears your barter points and locks traders (see the economy guide).
Quasimorph ships Easy, Normal, and Unfair presets. If a storyline push feels punishing during your first playthrough, drop to Easy — the strategic loop (extraction, barter, honour reputation) is identical, and you'll lose fewer clones while learning route discipline.
The Five Storylines and How They Unlock
1.0 centers five narrative arcs, each tied to a faction network:
| Storyline | Archetype | Ending | Unlock / start |
|---|---|---|---|
| Civil Resistance | Rebel cells vs corporate overreach | 1 ending | Positive standing with Civil Resistance |
| Tezctlan | Revivalist military cells | 1 ending | Sell the starting Secret Data to Tezctlan |
| Xiomara | Cross-faction (Feathered Masks) | 1 ending | Cross-faction interaction; second-run arc |
| AnCom | Syndicate economics | 2 endings | Sell the starting Secret Data to AnCom |
| RealWare | Industrial corporate / robots | 2 endings | Sell the starting Secret Data to RealWare |
That accounts for 7 of 9 endings — the remaining two are the dual-ended arcs, and there's also the Unchained Belt pirate system (unlocked by driving negative reputation with three corporations), which carries the tough Ship of Ghouls endurance story mission.
After the tutorials you begin with a Secret Data item. It's the single most important story item early on: selling it to AnCom, RealWare, or Tezctlan opens that storyline. Beware — the same community testing shows Tezctlan and Civil Resistance standing don't count toward the corporate negatives that unlock the pirate Belt arc. Deciding who gets the Data shapes your whole first run.
Best First-Playthrough Route
The Walkthrough Hub recommends a specific order because each arc escalates difficulty and horror:
- Civil Resistance — the clearest onboarding tone; early contracts favor Absentia moons and meter-locked mission types.
- Tezctlan — disciplined enemy squads but regular Control/Security contracts keep horror manageable.
- Xiomara — a second-run arc: it reads multiple reputations at once and punishes standing mistakes harshly.
- AnCom / RealWare — the two dual-ending arcs, best attempted once you've certified and want to plan branch hunting.
- Unchained Belt (Ship of Ghouls) — treat as an endgame combat exam, not a normal briefing.
Over-committing to a single faction often locks another ending path three missions later — especially during Xiomara beats since it reads multiple standings simultaneously. Log your standings before every flagged contract and ask: "does this choice exclude a faction I still need?"
Mission Types Are a Walkthrough Tool
Not every contract raises the horror meter. Defense, Control, and Security mission types lock Quasimorphosis at zero. Assault and Loot types let the meter climb.
This is huge for routing: you can farm reputation and safely push mid-arc story lines on meter-locked missions, saving assault/loot contracts for when you actually need drops from horror-active tables. The key quest beats that require loot usually appear late in each arc.
Story missions eventually push onto horror-capable stations. Read our Quasimorphosis survival guide before those beats — knowing how to bleed off the Q-meter is how you stop spawning extra quasimorphs mid-extraction.
9 Endings and Dual-Ending Planning
The nine endings are state checks at epilogue gates, not hidden collectibles:
- AnCom contributes two endings — broadly syndicate dominance vs burned bridges with corporate traders.
- RealWare contributes two endings — broadly corporate consolidation vs breakaway industrial.
- Civil Resistance, Tezctlan, and Xiomara each anchor one primary ending lane.
The game evaluates: which storylines reached their finale, faction reputation at branch missions, whether key quest items extracted alive, and optional flags (pacts accepted, corporate deals refused, horror events survived). No ending needs 100% reputation with every faction.
To hunt all 9 in fewer runs: complete Civil Resistance and Tezctlan for their singletons, route AnCom twice for both branches (Phase Bomb is available on both AnCom branches), then RealWare twice, and use a clean campaign with the console-disabled save for achievements — see our achievements guide for the trophy-safe approach.
The Unchained Belt: Ship of Ghouls
The Belt is the Main Belt pirate union (bases like Hargeysa on Interamnia). Its flagship story mission, Ship of Ghouls, is an endurance gauntlet — community reports describe roughly five-skull pressure and wave densities near 200 quasimorph kills across floors. You won't clear it with a Mars farmer loadout. Unlock it by driving negative reputation with three corporations (Tezctlan and Civil Resistance standing don't count), then check our Baron boss guide since endgame combat preparation overlaps.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start the Quasimorph campaign?
Complete the tutorials to get the starting Secret Data, then sell it to a corporation (AnCom, RealWare, or Tezctlan) to open that storyline, or build positive Civil Resistance standing for the rebel arc. Certification on Mars first.
How many storylines and endings does Quasimorph have?
Version 1.0 ships five storylines (Civil Resistance, Tezctlan, Xiomara, AnCom, RealWare) across 38 story missions, feeding nine endings — AnCom and RealWare each contribute two.
Which storyline should I do first in Quasimorph?
Civil Resistance — the clearest onboarding tone with early Absentia/meter-locked missions. Tezctlan is a solid second. Xiomara is best as a second-run arc.
What is the best route to get all 9 endings in Quasimorph?
Run Civil Resistance and Tezctlan once each for their single endings, then replay AnCom twice for both branches, then RealWare twice. Keep a clean save for achievements and log standings to avoid locking endings.
Does Quasimorph have a walkthrough hub for story missions?
Yes — this page is the main walkthrough hub, and each storyline has its own guide: AnCom, Civil Resistance, RealWare, and Tezctlan.
