Quasimorph AnCom storyline guide: how to unlock the syndicate arc with the starting Secret Data, its 2 endings, Phase Bomb access, and Class Chip strategy.
Quasimorph AnCom Walkthrough — Two Endings, Black-Market Power
Quasimorph's AnCom arc is the syndicate storyline — smuggler politics, black-market Class Chips, and economic warfare instead of a straight rebel fight. It's one of five storylines in version 1.0 (Steam, July 31, 2026), and it's unusual in two ways: it's gated behind loot-heavy progression, and it delivers two of the nine endings rather than a single lane. If you like treating the Magnum as a trading house more than an armory, this is your arc.
Follow the campaign walkthrough for overall route order — AnCom is best attempted after a Mars certification and ideally after one earlier arc like Civil Resistance.

Here's what you'll learn:
- Exactly how to unlock the AnCom storyline
- Why AnCom plays as an economy-first, bullets-second arc
- Its two endings and the fork that decides them
- Phase Bomb access on both AnCom branches
- Black-market Class Chip strategy and barter reputation discipline

How to Unlock the AnCom Storyline
The starting Secret Data you receive after the tutorials is the key item. Sell it to AnCom and the syndicate storyline opens on the mission board.
You only get one starting Secret Data, and it also opens RealWare or Tezctlan if you sell it to them instead. Committing it to AnCom trades away one of the other arcs for the first run — but since you want all 9 endings eventually, any choice is fine on a completionist file. See the campaign walkthrough for how the Data routing shapes your run.
From there, AnCom progress follows aggressive loot missions and barter reputation. Unlike Civil Resistance (which leans on more Absentia-friendly early contracts), AnCom's story beats often require rare barter goods — intact cyberware, smuggled components, faction-sealed crates — rather than pure kill counts. The economy guide walks through how to source and protect those goods.
AnCom Is Economy First, Bullets Second
AnCom rewards players who treat the Magnum as a trading floor:
- Loot mission types appear frequently and, on horror-capable stations, allow normal Quasimorphosis accumulation — so you need the Q-meter management from our Quasimorphosis survival guide before diving deep.
- Barter reputation drives progression: you're buying access and story keys from faction traders, and sub-zero standing clears your barter points. Keep every trader above zero while AnCom beats run.
- Black-market Class Chips — AnCom's high-tier gear — are gated by faction standing and barter tables, not by credit alone.
This makes AnCom the natural home for the stock-exchange/trade systems covered in the economy guide: flipping supply-and-demand prices and running the Trade Shuttle funds the black-market shopping you need.
As a loot-forward arc, AnCom tempts you to overstay on horror-active stations. A dead clone with a rare cyberware barter item on it resets real progress. Set an exit threshold before you hit the floor, and never push "one more floor" when the Q-meter is climbing.
AnCom Has Two Endings
AnCom forks into two distinct endings within the nine-ending set. The two outcomes are broadly describable as syndicate dominance versus burned bridges with corporate traders.
The fork arrives via flagged contracts whose brief text references things like black-market coups, betraying a profitable trader relationship, or consolidating syndicate control. Before you accept a fork contract, ask the nine endings questions:
- Does this choice exclude a faction I still need for another ending?
- Is a quest item on my clone right now? Extract it before the fork mission.
- Am I accepting a pact that trades a permanent debuff for short-term power? (See pacts in the factions guide.)
Because AnCom's two endings are branch checks rather than random rolls, you can plan both on separate runs: pick the syndicate-dominance path on one campaign, the burned-bridges path on a clean save. An easy way to see all 9 is to route AnCom twice before moving on — see the campaign walkthrough.
Phase Bomb Recipe on Both AnCom Branches
Phase Bomb is a key craftable for ending prep, and AnCom is one of the few arcs where both branches keep Phase Bomb access (RealWare offers it only before its fork, Tezctlan via rite chains, Xiomara via progression). Practically: you do not need to choose a branch before securing the Phase Bomb recipe on AnCom — craft it early regardless of which ending you chase.
That makes AnCom a great arc for completionist players: you can farm the Phase Bomb recipe, grab a black-market Class Chip loadout, then branch toward either ending without losing the craft line.
Black-Market Class Chip Strategy
On AnCom, gear upgrades come through the syndicate market rather than drops. Practical loop:
- Farm loot on Mars/Phobos/Deimos (Absentia — no horror) to bank trade goods.
- Flip the Stock Exchange for profit and source the specific barter components AnCom traders want.
- Watch standing — high reputation unlocks better chips and discounts; sub-zero breaks trade entirely.
- Buy class chips, not just weapons — class chips unlock the mercenary class slots covered in the classes tier list.
When the Trade Shuttle offers a "reduced price" for off-meta goods, don't dump items you'll need as barter proof or quest flags. A cheap credit from scrambling a rare cyberware item can silently cost you a story beat three contracts later.
Frequently Asked Questions
How do I start the AnCom storyline in Quasimorph?
Sell the starting Secret Data (received after the tutorials) to AnCom. That opens the syndicate arc on the Magnum mission board.
Does AnCom have two endings in Quasimorph?
Yes — AnCom is one of two dual-ending arcs (with RealWare): broadly syndicate dominance vs burned bridges with corporate traders, both part of the nine-ending set.
Why is AnCom the hardest storyline?
It's economy-first and loot-forward: you need rare barter goods, careful reputation floors, and Q-meter discipline on horror-active stations. Newcomers are usually pointed to Civil Resistance or Tezctlan first.
Which AnCom branch should I pick for Phase Bomb?
Both — Phase Bomb recipe stays available on both AnCom branches (unlike RealWare, where it's pre-fork only). Craft it before branching no matter which ending you choose.
