How the SpiritVale player economy works — vending stalls, the Auction House, player-to-player trading, the duplication-exploit history, and how to trade safely.
SpiritVale Economy Guide — Trading, Vending Stalls and the Auction House
SpiritVale runs on a single shared player economy — the RO-era vision of a world where bosses drop gear, players trade it among themselves, and towns fill with player-run stalls. Trading, vending and the Auction House are the three pillars, and the economy's history is also the game's most turbulent story: item-duplication exploits forced the developers to disable all trading for a stretch in July 2026, then re-enable it in patch 0.30.10.
This guide covers how each system works, the honest current state, and how to trade safely.

The Three Pillars
1. Player-to-Player Trading
Direct 1-on-1 trading between players for gear, cards and materials. After the exploit cleanup, the developers re-enabled trading in 0.30.10 alongside guild storage and the Auction House, and 0.30.11 shipped another trade-exploit fix plus AH filter menus and pagination.
2. Vending Stalls (The Classic)
The RO-style vending stall: you rent a stall (via the Vending Stallmaster NPC), name it, and your character is logged out in the world as a shop — selling while you're away. The Steam community describes the flow: "The menu makes you name it, and then, once you click Hire Stall, your character is logged out, reserved as the trading stall in the game world." Town districts fill with these stalls, which is exactly the vibe the game is going for.
3. The Auction House (AH)
The centralized marketplace in major cities: list items at fixed prices or via timed auctions. Sales proceeds (and purchased items) sit in the AH until you press collect — the UI explicitly warns that uncollected items stay in the interface until you grab them.
The Economy's History (Read Before You Panic)
Timeline, from official Steam announcements:
- July 2026 (early EA): item-duplication exploits spread; the developers disabled Trade, Vending and the Auction House entirely to stop the bleeding, and asked exploit-adjacent players to self-report (with a public "ban list" warning for cheaters).
- 0.30.10: Trade/Vending/Guild storage re-enabled — with fixes for item loss, exploits, the vending/AH systems and the party system.
- 0.30.11: AH filter menu + pagination, chat reporting, and another trade exploit fix.
Current state (patch 0.30.11): the economy is live and functional, but it's freshly stabilized — prices are volatile, and the devs are still actively fixing exploit vectors. Always check the latest patch notes before large transactions.
Old-meta gear crashes and new-meta gear spikes whenever a patch lands (weekly, 0.30.x). If you're holding expensive items through patch day, expect volatility — see the updates guide.
Trading Safety Rules
- Never buy gold from third-party sites — it funds the exploit economy the devs are actively banning for. See the money guide for legitimate earning.
- Use the AH "collect" flow — sales and purchases stay in the AH interface until you collect; leaving them uncollected risks confusion (and history shows item-loss bugs in early patches).
- Verify prices before listing — check other stalls and AH listings; the game's whole economy is player-set, so prices drift hard between zones and peak hours.
- Patch-day caution — hold big trades until the weekly patch settles.
Making Money in the Economy
- Boss drops — the rarest gear and boss cards are the highest-value trade goods (see the bosses guide).
- Card farming — boss signature cards anchor builds, making them steady sellers (see the cards guide).
- Materials and crafted goods — refine/craft at the Blacksmith and Craftsman, then sell the upgrade (see the gear guide).
- Vending passive income — park your stall in a busy town channel while you're offline; the stallmaster handles it.
