SpiritVale servers explained — US, EU, SEA, Oceania and South America regions, channels, the shared-character system, and live server status.
SpiritVale Servers — Regions, Channels, Status and Connection
SpiritVale's server structure is deliberately player-friendly: your characters are shared across every server and region, so server choice is about latency, not commitment — the RuneScape model. Regions currently cover US, EU, SEA, Oceania and South America, with an Asia server officially in development. Within each server, maps split into channels to spread population.
This guide covers regions, the shared-character system, live status sources, and common connection issues.

Regions and Server Families
Community-documented server families (from the best-server guides and live status pages):
| Region | Server family | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| North America | na / sun | US East & West coverage |
| Europe | eu2 / star | Multi-server clusters |
| Southeast Asia | luna (luna-1, luna-7, …) | Among the most populated servers |
| Oceania | aurora (aurora-1 … aurora-4) | AU/NZ |
| South America | nova | Dedicated SA servers |
| Asia | (in development) | Dev announced "trying to get an Asia server setup" (Aug 2026) |
Live player counts per server are tracked in real time on spiritvale.info/game/server-status.
The Shared-Character System
- Characters are shared across all servers and regions — you can change regions/servers at any time without losing progress.
- Server choice rule: lowest ping wins. That's the only meaningful decision — as one community guide puts it, "when you're choosing a server, just pick the one with the lowest ping, since your characters can move between servers at any time."
Channels: Population Control the RO Way
Each map is split into multiple channels (instances) so population spreads instead of clumping. The developers have been expanding channel counts on all servers since launch — the August 2026 dev note literally says: "I just tweaked the map configs to enable more channels in all servers, since it's been an ongoing complaint." Channels are how you find quieter farming spots and how towns stay functional during peak hours.
Crossplay and Platform Reality
- SpiritVale is PC-only (Steam) — there is no console version and no crossplay with other platforms at this time.
- The Steam store lists DualShock controller support and partial controller support — see the Steam Deck & controller guide for input details.
- Mac: no official Mac build is listed — the system requirements guide covers the PC specs.
Connection Issues and Lag
Given the game's weekly patch cadence, maintenance and incidents are common — the official Steam news hub is the source of truth (posts like "Servers under maintenance!", "Servers back up!", and login-timeout fixes appear regularly).
Practical steps when lag hits:
-
Form or join a party in your region — regional groups farm the same channels and know the current state (see the party guide).
-
Check the live status page (spiritvale.info) — is the server even up?
-
Check for announced maintenance on the Steam news hub before assuming your connection is the problem.
-
Switch channels — crowded channels in peak hours cause rubber-banding; moving to a quieter channel is the cheapest fix.
-
Switch region — since characters are shared, relogging to the nearest healthy region is always an option.
-
Report bugs via the in-game chat reporting (right-click, added in 0.30.11) or Discord.
SpiritVale is an Early Access MMO under heavy active maintenance — weekly patches, occasional rollbacks ("Reverted some changes made a few hours ago" is a real dev post). Always verify current status before long farming sessions.

FAQ
How many servers does SpiritVale have?
Many, across five regions: US (na/sun), EU (eu2/star), SEA (luna), Oceania (aurora) and South America (nova), with an Asia server in development. Live counts on spiritvale.info.
Can I change servers in SpiritVale?
Yes — characters are shared across all servers and regions, so you can switch anytime without losing progress.
Is SpiritVale crossplay?
No console version exists — SpiritVale is PC-only, so there's no crossplay to speak of.
Why is SpiritVale lagging?
Check the live status page and the news hub for maintenance, then try switching channels (peak-hour crowding) or regions (shared characters make this free).
