The Patch History
Update 1.0.3 (July 23, 2026) — Day-One Fixes
The first patch, out the day after launch:
- Fixed an issue where World Bosses and Sudden Missions were not resetting (core to the daily economy — see the farming guide)
- Fixed the Intermediate Promotion Quest where the prison door wouldn't open
Official notes on the Steam News hub.
Update 1.0.5 (July 2026) — Continued Stabilization
The 1.0.5 notes are published on the same Steam News hub — the release focused on continuing stability and quest fixes in the launch window.
Update 1.0.7 (August 2026) — The Big One
The major post-launch update, adding headline features and a large bugfix list:
- Matchmaking — multiplayer matchmaking added, with configurable search range for sessions; guests now return to their own world after a match
- Retry feature — retry in content was prepared alongside, but hit implementation issues and was delayed to the following week's patch
- Multiplayer achievements fixed — previously only the host earned them; guests now get credit too
- Map pins doubled — 100 to 200 custom pins
- Rune cap raised — 200 to 500 runes, with duplicate counts now shown in inventory
- Quest fixes — progression blocks in Calleon and Dana's Hero Quests, bond quests for Marwei King Hog and Ninyan, Adventure Quest 45 (blocked progression + non-responding monsters), AQ47 (missing NPC), and AQ56 (blocking door)
- Combat-feel improvements — the first wave of the QoL roadmap's responsiveness work
The matchmaking, retry, and quest-fix details come from community patch breakdowns of the 1.0.7 notes; the official Steam News posts remain the authoritative source for exact wording.
The Update Cadence
Hound13's pattern so far: patch on day one, then weekly through the launch window. That's an unusually aggressive cadence for an independent studio — and it matches the roadmap promise of "ongoing balance updates" and the QoL list announced in Stream #4 (see the roadmap guide). The announced-but-delayed retry feature shows the team will publicly defer half-done work rather than ship it broken, which is a healthy sign.
What This Means for Players
- Patch before farming — the World Boss reset fix (1.0.3) and quest fixes (1.0.7) changed what's actually farmable; our farming guide reflects the current state.
- Co-op achievements work now — the guest-credit fix makes group achievement hunting viable (see the achievements guide).
- Combat changes are live — the feel improvements affect the combat guide advice; re-test your muscle memory after each patch.
All official patch notes post to the Steam News hub for DragonSword: Awakening — that, plus the official Discord, is where updates break first.
