The Cathedral of Omens is a combat-free puzzle dungeon in Yaesha where you rotate shadow-casting rings to match three deity combinations, earning the Faith Seed, the Sagittarius bow, and — during a Blood Moon — the Ring of Omens. There are no enemies inside, but the solutions are easy to miss: a book in the library room contains every combination, and one reward only appears while a Blood Moon is active in Yaesha. This guide gives every lever pull, plus the nearby Water Harp puzzle in the Forbidden Grove that trips up the same players.

How the Cathedral Puzzle Works
The cathedral's central mechanism projects light through the roof, casting shadows of the six Pan deities — The Sun, The Moon, Life, Death, The Ravager and The Doe — onto the floor. Three levers control the machine:
- Southern lever (next to the entrance) — rotates the puzzle's triangle to point at a door
- Eastern lever (in front of the Blood Moon door) — aligns the deity symbols into the two fixed base focus circles
- Western lever (near the broken Beginning door) — adjusts the remaining two focus circles
In the library room east of the entrance, a book tells three stories — The Calamity, The Blood Moon, The Hope — each with the symbol arrangement for one door. The triangle above each door shows the orientation you need. There are three rewards total, one per door.

All Three Puzzle Solutions
The Hope → Sagittarius bow (center door)
The most-wanted reward: the Sagittarius, a special long bow. Its entry lists Doe, Ravager, Sun and Life, with Life and Sun positioned below the Doe.
- Pull the southern lever until the triangle faces top-right (matching the symbol above the center entrance).
- Put The Doe and The Ravager in the two fixed base focus circles (eastern lever).
- Place Life and Sun in the remaining circles below the Doe (western lever).
The Calamity → Faith Seed (northern door)
Gives the Faith Seed, a crafting material used in the Archon unlock line and elsewhere.
- The Doe + Ravager pair goes in the base focus circles from below (eastern lever)
- Death sits in one movable focus circle from above
- The other movable circle overlaps one of the base circles
The Blood Moon → Ring of Omens (eastern door)
The door itself opens two ornate chests — but the real prize, the Ring of Omens, sits behind a hidden floor trap door that only opens during an active Blood Moon.

- The Ravager goes in one focus circle below

The Blood Moon Requirement
A Blood Moon is a random Yaesha world event: the sky turns red, wisps spawn, and — relevant here — the cathedral's light shafts glow crimson. It's required for the Ring of Omens, and many players assume the puzzle is bugged when the trap door doesn't appear without it.
How to trigger one: repeatedly travel between connected Yaesha outdoor zones (through yellow transition doors) without resting at World Stones. Adventure Mode is the easiest place to farm the event because zones are small and fast to re-enter. You'll know it's active inside the cathedral when the light shafts turn red — run straight to the Blood Moon door and the trap door will slide open, revealing 3 Blood Moon Essence and the Ring of Omens pedestal.
The Ring of Omens itself is a defensive staple (removes stamina costs from evades, converting them to grey-health costs, and enables superheavy-armor dodge builds) — full breakdown in our rings guide. If you solve the Blood Moon combination without an active Blood Moon, the door opens but the floor stays sealed. Don't reroll the dungeon — leave Yaesha, farm the event with zone transitions, and come back. The cathedral has zero enemies, so there's no pressure once you're inside.
The Water Harp Puzzle (Forbidden Grove, Yaesha)
The Water Harp — a.k.a. the music box — is a separate Yaesha puzzle in the Forbidden Grove (Ravager storyline). You power the harp with a water wheel, then set pins on the spool to play a melody. The solution is in a book on the desk nearby; the notes translate to pin positions:
- Main song (progress): pins
5, 0, 4, 3, 4, 1, 0— plays the tune that drains the river and opens the path forward. - Secret song (Bolt Driver): pins
1, 4, 0, 2, 5, 0, 3, 0— unlocks the Bolt Driver handgun and the "Carnage in C-Minor" achievement/trophy.
The puzzle only activates after you've advanced the Ravager storyline far enough to power the harp — if nothing responds, push the main story first. The "Forbidden Grove puzzle" searches you'll see online are all this same water harp.
