Fields of Mistria Characters Guide — All 30+ Villagers

Mistria is home to 30+ named villagers — and the 1.0 update (August 5, 2026) added two new ones. Who you befriend matters because hearts gate marriage, new dialogue, and even shop stock. This guide is the who's-who of Mistria: roles, shops, the marriage candidates, and the 1.0 newcomers.

For what to give everyone, see the gift guide; for the marriage system itself, see the romance guide.

The Town Leadership

  • Adeline — the mayor, one of the two town-leadership siblings, and a marriage candidate. Her shop duties tie into town repair.

Shop stock grows with friendship

Several shops expand their inventory as hearts grow. Befriending shopkeepers isn't just social — it's a gameplay unlock. The gift guide gets you there faster.

The Special Candidates

  • Caldarus — the dragon statue on your farm, unlockable as a full romance candidate through his questline. Dedicated page: Caldarus.
  • The Priestess — the second special candidate with her own unlock path (community-documented).
"30+" is a floor, not a ceiling

The community wiki (fieldsofmistria.wiki.gg) counts 34 named villagers in 1.0 including the newcomers and special characters — the exact count depends on whether you count both shop variants and the Saturday Market cast.

Heart Levels and What They Unlock

  • Higher hearts unlock new dialogue, requests, and romance content — 10 hearts is the marriage threshold (see the romance guide).
  • Gift tips and preferences surface in dialogue as friendship grows — or pay Elsie's stall for instant hints.
  • Villager quests give large heart chunks; the calendar guide lists birthdays for the free heart multiplier.
