Endacopia Characters — Mellow, Henry, Roger, Tip & Every NPC (2026)

Endacopia's cast is small, strange and deeply tied to its themes — every character in this game is either a distorted memory, a corporate nightmare, or a creature that shouldn't exist in a children's software demo. The roster runs from the red-capped protagonist Mellow to Henry the burlap lizard, the mirror figure Roger, the sarcastic signpost Tip, the living piggy bank Wall Bank, three optional bosses, and a developer cameo with its own hidden ending. This guide profiles every named character with what they do in the story and how they connect to the endings.

Here's what you'll learn:

  • Who Mellow is and what "lost all his senses" means for gameplay
  • Henry — from opening abductor to the Escape-route final boss
  • Roger — the mirror figure at the center of the saw choice
  • The support cast: Tip, Wall Bank, Clocky, the Red Creature
  • The three optional bosses: Trapezist, Chameleon, AI
  • Timesville's cast: Catthew, Beartha and the side-quest chain
  • The secret characters: Freelance Surgeon, The Bride, and Andyland

Mellow — the Protagonist

Mellow is the red-capped boy you guide through Endacopia, and the signature figure of the game's title art. Per the official Steam description, he "has lost all his senses in an attempt to escape an uncomfortable home" — which is the game's setup, its art direction and its puzzle logic in one sentence. He doesn't know much about anything except that he has a strong gut instinct: that instinct is the player's own intuition, framed in-game as a "guardian angel" guiding him.

Per the official Steam description, "You'll be guiding a young boy named Mellow who has lost all his senses in an attempt to escape an uncomfortable home" — the game's own one-line premise for the whole cast and world.

  • Role: playable protagonist for the entire game; captured by Henry in the opening cutscene.
  • Design: short hair, pale skin, passive expression — deliberately small and vulnerable against the horror.
  • Identity twist (spoilers): the late game ties Mellow to the name Roger; in the secret Stay ending, family members address the protagonist as Roger. The "Roger" NPC behind the mirror and the playable Mellow are two layers of the same buried identity. See the endings guide for how this plays out.
  • Dedicated page: Mellow — the protagonist.

Henry — the Burlap Lizard

Henry is Endacopia's signature monster: a large, hostile figure wrapped in burlap with a pig-like head, pale cataract eyes and mismatched hands. He anchors the whole game — he's the opening abductor, the kitchen jailer, the Saw Box's gatekeeper, and the final boss of the Escape route.

  • Prologue: knocks Mellow out in the opening cutscene; patrols the kitchen while you steal the Cheese (hide in the right cabinet).
  • Chapter II: his computer holds PASSWORDS.TXT — the source of the Saw Box code 471.
  • Chapter III (Escape route): the mandatory final boss in a giant mouth arena. You don't punch him to win — you bait his overhead bat swing into the hanging uvula. He declares Mellow has "no one waiting" outside before the fight.
  • Lore note: Mellow's bedroom drawing shows a softer, pig-headed Henry — perception filters the monster.

Roger — the Mirror Figure

Roger sits at the center of the ending branches. In the Chapter II epilogue you give either the Toy Saw or the Real Saw to Roger — the figure behind the mirror — and that single gift locks Ending A or Ending B.

  • Identity (spoilers): community write-ups and the ending scenes agree on a layered reading — the playable "Mellow" is later tied to the original Roger who lost his memory; a Roger clone behind the mirror is the NPC who receives your saw; and the toilet entity (Red Creature) is a separate parasite that offers "adventures" in exchange for the Cheshire password.
  • The saw choice: Toy Saw → Escape / "Family!"; Real Saw → Return / "Family?". Irreversible per run — back up your save first (save file guide).
  • Stay connection: once Escape and Return are unlocked, the saw choice no longer matters; Stay's family reveal lands on the Roger name hardest.

Tip — the Sign with a Mouth

Tip is a wooden signpost with a white face — Mellow literally calls him "a sign with a mouth." He's your in-world tutorial guide:

  • Personality: sassy and sarcastic, short-tempered, caring underneath; openly dislikes Wall Bank.
  • Gameplay: gives directional hints, explains the Clocky fight, and — in the Escape route's Chapter III — boosts Mellow through a ceiling hole to reach the Henry arena.
  • Demo tip: wake him in the hallway by opening the "Do Not Open" door first, and ask for a tip politely.

Wall Bank — the Living Piggy Bank

A brown living cube with round black eyes and a mouth, hidden behind the drawing on Mellow's bedroom wall. Feed it 2 coins (from the cheese-lured cockroach) and it reveals the password Cheshire. It speaks in three-word sentences ("Hungry", "Coins first", "Keep a secret") — AndyLand based it on a real Japanese coin-bank toy that creepily "eats" coins. Community joke: "the power of consumerism."

Clocky — the Hostile Clock

A circular wall clock with a face, guarding the hallway door to the bathroom. The demo's primary combat encounter and the game's tutorial for the block/counter system: watch the clock hands telegraph every attack, block with M2, counter with M1 — six rounds. TV Tropes-style community analysis describes the bedroom wall clock and hallway Clocky as the same entity in two phases. Strategy: tips and tricks.

The Red Creature — the Toilet Gatekeeper

A red humanoid-ish entity that emerges from the toilet after the plunger sequence. It doesn't attack — it offers to "go on an adventure" and asks for the Cheshire password. Choose the top dialogue option, enter Cheshire, and it pulls Mellow through the toilet into Chapter 1. Bright red against muted bathroom tones; reads as both playful and threatening, which is Endacopia's whole design language.

The Optional Bosses — Trapezist, Chameleon, AI

Three full-game optional bosses, each with a fight achievement and an avoid achievement (mutually exclusive per run — see the achievements guide):

Boss Where Fight → Avoid →
Trapezist Circus trapeze tent (Chapter II revisit) Fatal Performance Cut The Act — Scalpel on the left rope on landing
Chameleon VHS/den after the Timesville name check No Strings Attached Case Closed — grave-name quiz (usually Ozzie, sometimes Ollie)
AI Office Core (Green → Yellow → Black → Red buttons) System Override Short Circuit — water mug + O/O/X answers + pour the outlet

All three must be fought on a dedicated Stay run — skipping any blocks the secret ending. Full fight/skip steps: puzzle solutions.

Timesville's Cast — Catthew, Beartha and the Chain

  • Catthew — a red cat whose three-round hide-and-seek (locked shed → jail building → bridge chase) rewards the Fishing License, which gates the entire fishing chain and the party invite that leads to the Telescope.
  • Beartha — a yellow bear whose stolen-PGD quest is Chapter 1's longest optional chain: telescope constellation → skeleton Metal Detector puzzle → beach digging → Lockpick → Rat's room evidence → blackmail Nibbles → second dig (Camera, Fish Paper) → Black Rose → Rosie's grave → VHS Player.
  • Nibbles / Rat / the fox and owl — the party chain (aquarium, password "Yellow", the owl's telescope gift) and the blackmail subplot.

The Secret Cast — Freelance Surgeon, The Bride, Boone, Andyland

  • Freelance Surgeon — a humanoid robot with a surgical lamp for a head and a white mask. Affably evil: he created Clocky, admonishes Mellow for swearing, and describes the house as shifting "like an organism." His domain opens behind a painting after Clocky dies.
  • The Bride — two women stitched into one, hanging in the secret basement reached via the "underground" ceiling-lamp route. Touching her three times makes the game intentionally crash with a sinister laugh — a confirmed secret route, not a bug.
  • Boone (Blue Boon) — twin circus performers with parser-heavy dialogue near the Doodle Maze exit; narrative and atmospheric rather than a boss gate.
  • Andyland — the developer's in-game cameo, reachable after the main endings. Talking to him starts a dancing mini-game that unlocks The Yeti — the rarest ending-adjacent achievement (~6.8% at launch). The endings guide has the full route.
Characters speak gibberish with subtitles

Endacopia characters don't use voice acting — they make gibberish sounds with readable subtitles. Tip's sarcasm, Wall Bank's three-word economy and Henry's rare lines all come through the subtitles, so don't mute the game and assume you'll miss nothing: the audio is a puzzle tool (the Office Morse code).
