Endacopia Items — Every Key Item, Location & Use (2026)
Endacopia fills Mellow's pockets with "tools, toys, gadgets and trash" — and nearly everything has a use somewhere, often several rooms later. The official item philosophy is that every item has an evidence trail: where it came from, what it looks like, what it's been tested on, and what it eventually does. This guide gives the complete catalog: every key item, where it's found, what it unlocks, and the puzzles it feeds into — including the item-states gotcha (some items transform after use).
Per the official Steam description, Mellow's loop includes to "fill your pockets with tools, toys, gadgets, and trash" — the trash line is not a joke; nearly everything in the inventory system has a purpose.
Here's what you'll learn:
- How Endacopia's inventory system works (action cycling, combinations, item states)
- The Prologue items: Plunger, Cheese, Coins — and the Cheshire chain
- The branching items: Toy Saw vs Real Saw (code 471)
- The exploration tools: Metal Detector, Telescope, Lockpick
- The Office chain: Transparent Mug, Flower, Wrench, Core Key
- The Circus chain: Scalpel, Red Ball, Skateboard
- A full item table with locations and uses

How Endacopia Items Work
- Open the inventory with E or I. Left-click an item to select it, then left-click something in the world to use it.
- Right-click cycles actions on hovered objects — an item's target often has more than one action (examine, use, talk).
- Test items back where you found them — the environment usually explains an item's purpose visually (shape match, symbol, color).
- Track item states. Some items change after use: opened, filled, combined, consumed. The Cheese is consumed by the cockroach puzzle; the Transparent Mug must be filled with water before it becomes the Short Circuit tool; the Saw Box holds one saw and one only.
- Talk to characters with an item selected — dialogue can react to what you're holding.
- Re-examine items after big events — descriptions and states change as the world changes.
A "useless" item usually pairs with a scene you haven't connected yet. The puzzle solutions guide tests high-confidence pairings first: tool + mechanism, container + substance, key + lock, symbol + matching symbol.
Prologue Items
Plunger
- Where: the Bathroom, after defeating Clocky.
- Use: the demo's ending trigger — use it on the toilet, choose the top dialogue option, enter Cheshire. PC Gamer's demo coverage noted the absurd puzzle design: players tried the plunger on several things before the toilet. In the full game the sequence is the Prologue's final beat.
Cheese
- Where: the Kitchen fridge, after the Henry stealth section and the Fridge Puzzle.
- Use: lures the cockroach in Mellow's room. Consumed by the puzzle.
- Chain: cheese → cockroach → 2 coins → Wall Bank → Cheshire password.
Coins (×2)
- Where: dropped by the cockroach when you step on it (Mellow refuses to pick it up by hand).
- Use: feed both to the Wall Bank behind the bedroom drawing — it reveals the Cheshire password. You need exactly two.
Chapter II Branching Items — Toy Saw & Real Saw
- Where: Henry's Saw Box, opened with code 471 (from PASSWORDS.TXT on Henry's computer) during the Chapter II epilogue.
- The rule: you may carry one saw only. The box won't let you return for the other.
- Toy Saw → Roger → Ending A (Escape / "Family!") → includes the mandatory Henry boss fight.
- Real Saw → Roger → Ending B (Return / "Family?") → darker epilogue variant.
- Back up first: single-save system + Steam Cloud (1.04+) mirror one slot, so copy your
userdatafolder before opening the box. Details: save file guide and endings guide.
The Saw Box choice is irreversible for the run. If you want both endings without replaying everything, save (and back up) before opening the box — this is the single most important save point in the game.
Exploration Tools — Metal Detector, Telescope, Lockpick
Metal Detector
- Where: Beartha's PGD quest in Timesville — telescope constellation at the locked beach shed → skeleton room → raise all skeletons to the highest position except the upside-down one (arms outward) → pull the bone rope → wait for insects → collect it.
- Uses (all Stay-ending critical):
- Misery Town cinema: find the remote in the sandy floor → reveal the map.
- Timesville beach: dig up the Lockpick, then later the Camera, Fish Paper and PGD.
- Timesville finishing paper (fish paper) for the Stay secret.
- Windowed-mode tip: community guides consistently report detector searches are more accurate in windowed mode.
Telescope
- Where: Timesville party chain — Catthew hide-and-seek ×3 → Fishing License → 6 fish → aquarium at night → party invite (password Yellow) → reassure the owl → gift.
- Uses:
- Beartha's shed constellation puzzle.
- The Office Stay secret: place it by the sleeping bench figure at the station entrance → read CALL US! 277-5944 → dial in the Jobs app → Morse "Behind the stairs 1 minute" → wait 60 seconds behind the stairs → VR helmet room.
- Patch 1.07 fixed telescope-related crashes near locked doors; keep the game updated for Stay runs.
Lockpick
- Where: beach dig with the Metal Detector (Beartha chain).
- Use: unlock Rat's room (2nd floor apartment) to gather blackmail evidence on Nibbles.
The Office Chain — Mug, Flower, Wrench, Core Key
The Gambling Den branch (needs all six phone calls correct for reassessment) produces the Office tool chain:
| Item | Where | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Transparent Mug | Floor right after the Gambling Den elevator | Fill at the Office cooler → pour water on the plant → Flower; ALSO the Short Circuit item for the AI avoid |
| Flower | Mug water + plant | Trade at the train station → Wrench |
| Wrench | Train station trade | Remove the Office water cooler panel → turn the water on → Core Key; smash the glass wall in the Core room |
| Core Key | Office cooler | Opens the Core room progression (productivity + Core puzzles) |
The Transparent Mug doubles as the Short Circuit tool (fill it, answer the Core Green O → Green O → Red X, pour on the front-left outlet). Get the fill before opening the Core — the cooler is on the Office side.
The Circus Chain — Scalpel, Red Ball, Skateboard
| Item | Where | Use |
|---|---|---|
| Scalpel | Whack-a-Mole (watch the gray-tent films; hit Red/Yellow/Pink/Purple) | Medical Tent operation mini-game → Red Ball; ALSO the Cut The Act skip on the Trapezist's left rope |
| Red Ball | Medical Tent operation | Circus progress item |
| Skateboard | Optional shooting gallery near the Medical Tent | Optional collectible |
Other Notable Items
- Camera — from Beartha's second beach dig; used in Timesville photo beats. Patch 1.08 restored the Camera + green mug interaction.
- Fish Paper — second beach dig; ties into the Timesville Stay secret (18-fish key chain).
- Black Rose — Beartha's reward for returning the PGD; give it to Rosie's grave to reach the hidden chamber with the VHS Player.
- VHS Player — opens the Chameleon's den sequence (optional boss).
- PASSWORDS.TXT — not an inventory item, but the source of the Saw Box code 471 on Henry's computer.

In Timesville via Beartha's PGD quest: telescope constellation at the locked beach shed, then the skeleton room puzzle (raise all skeletons except the upside-down one, pull the bone rope).
What do I do with the Cheese in Endacopia?
Use it in Mellow's room to lure the cockroach, then step on the cockroach for two coins — the start of the Wall Bank/Cheshire password chain.
Where do I get the Toy Saw and Real Saw in Endacopia?
From Henry's Saw Box during the Chapter II epilogue — code 471 from PASSWORDS.TXT on Henry's computer. You can take only one saw per playthrough.
