What Is Doloc Town?
Doloc Town is a single-player, side-scrolling farm life sim developed by RedSaw Games Studio and published by Logoi Games (with Pathea Games credited on Steam). It entered Early Access on May 8, 2025, and fully released on August 6, 2026 after four major EA updates (Pastoral Waves, Thrive & Ties, Harvest Fusion, Steam Workshop integration).
The pitch: "Play as a young scavenger and construct your vertical farm one platform at a time under extreme weather." You wake in the ruins of your hometown, build a farm out of scrap, and work toward restoring the environment — and the game's central mystery, the search for Eden, a utopia that existed before the world ended. The setting is cozy-but-harsh: acid rain erodes crops, scorching sun bakes soil, and hostile machines roam the ruins, but the town itself is warm, funny and full of life — 13 townsfolk with relationship storylines, festivals, and a soundtrack reviewers consistently praise.
Per the official 1.0 press release (Gamespress), "What began as a small seed in Early Access has grown into one of Steam's highest-rated farming sims" — a 95% rating earned across more than a year of community-driven development.
The Core Systems
- Vertical farming. Platforms and planter basins stack into a tower farm — the game's signature twist. Layout, watering and weather protection all happen in 3 axes instead of a flat field. Start with the beginner's guide and the best farm layout.
- 30+ crops and four seasons. Light Rain, Heavy Rain, Early Dry and Harsh Dry seasons each rotate the crop, fish and forage lists. See the crop tier list and weather and seasons guide.
- The gene system. 21 gene modules, 4 machines (Activation Chamber, Extractor, Replicator, Synthesizer), up to 3 genes per seed — the deepest crop-crafting layer in any farm sim. Full breakdown in the gene system guide.
- Combat drones. Your weapons are mounted on an auto-firing drone with frame/weapon/engine/chip slots. See the combat drone guide and the drone chips guide.
- Fishing and ranching. 40+ fish species (per the official description), rod tiers, 20 pools, plus chickens, cows, goats, pigs and marshbeasts with special drops. See the fishing & ranching guide and best fishing spots.
- Five regions. Outskirts, River Valley, Wetlands, caves and the 1.0 Old City Ruins, with Metroidvania-style unlock progression. See the regions guide and caves guide.
- Automation (1.0). Base stations and agricultural drones sow, water, fertilize and harvest — the endgame hands-free loop in the 1.0 features guide.
