Helldivers 2 Super Destroyer — Rooms, Ship Modules and Boosters

The Super Destroyer is your hub ship in Helldivers 2 — the base between missions where you change loadouts, buy stratagems, spend samples on Ship Modules, unlock Warbond gear and launch operations. It's not just a menu, though: the ship is a real space you walk through, with distinct rooms (Bridge, Armory, Ship Management, Acquisition Center) and a new Control Center terminal added in Update 6.3.0 that tracks the Galactic Campaigns. Two permanent progression systems live on the ship — Ship Modules (stratagem upgrades bought with samples) and Boosters (squad-wide perks from Warbonds) — and getting both right is a bigger power gain than any single weapon.

This guide walks every room, explains both upgrade systems with exact costs, and gives you the community's best upgrade order.

The Super Destroyer's Rooms, Mapped

The ship has a fixed layout, and each room handles part of your progression:

Room / terminal What it does
Bridge Mission launch, Galactic War table, difficulty selection; also holds the Democracy Space Station vote console when active
Armory Primary/secondary weapon loadout, armor and cape selection, emote wheel — the first stop for every mission
Ship Management Two separate consoles: the Patriotic Administration Center (PAC) for buying stratagems with Requisition Slips, and the Ship Modules upgrade tree (samples)
Acquisition Center Warbonds (free and premium), the Superstore rotation, Super Credits purchases, Medals spending
Control Center Added in Update 6.3.0 (June 2026) — tracks the active Galactic Campaign, progression percentages and campaign archive
Hangar / exterior Where Hellpods and vehicles launch; cosmetic upgrades change the ship's exterior
Walk, don't menu

Everything on the Super Destroyer is faster from the quick-menu shortcuts (hold the menu button on controller), but walking the ship lets you see your ship name, flag and cosmetics — and the ship's interior visibly changes as you buy Ship Modules, which is a nice reward for the grind.

Ship Modules: The Sample Sink That Makes You Stronger

Ship Modules are permanent, passive stratagem upgrades bought at the Ship Management terminal using samples (Common/Green, Rare/Orange, Super/Pink). They're organized into six upgrade groups (Patriotic Administration Center, Orbital Cannons, Hangar, Engineering Bay, Robotics Workshop, Bridge), and modules within a group unlock sequentially — you must buy the previous module before the next appears. Per the official wiki, they also change the appearance of the Super Destroyer's interior and exterior as you upgrade.

The complete cost to max everything, cross-checked across GamesRadar, GameRant and VideoGamer:

Currency Total needed
Common samples 3,830
Rare samples 2,920
Super samples 305
Requisition Slips 335,000

That's a long-term grind — which is exactly why the priority order matters.

Official source: Helldivers Wiki — Ship Modules — "It is important to note that the upgrades only affect the Helldiver that purchases them. These upgrades also change the appearance of the interior and exterior of the Super Destroyer."

Best Ship Module upgrade order (community consensus)

  1. Donation Access License (60 Common) — support weapons deploy with full magazines. The single best early investment.
  2. Targeting Software (60 Common) — orbital deployment time −1 second.
  3. Liquid-Ventilated Cockpit (80 Common) — Eagle rearm cooldown −50%. Massive for Eagle mains.
  4. Synthetic Supplementation (60 Common + 10 Rare) — sentry/emplacement/resupply cooldown −10%.
  5. Dynamic Tracking — faster sentry deployment.
  6. Expanded Weapons Bay (80 Common + 80 Rare + 10 Super) — Eagle gets +1 use per rearm; the end-game goal.

Two achievements are tied to the system: "Ship it!" (upgrade all modules at least one level) and "Fully operational" (max out one module) — both are tracked on the official wiki's achievement list.

Boosters: How to Get and Use Them

Boosters are squad-wide perks — unlike Ship Modules (personal) or armor passives (personal), a Booster buffs the entire team, which is why the community treats them as a coordination point. From TechRadar's guide and the wiki:

  • How to get them: Boosters unlock through Warbonds for Medals — the free Helldivers Mobilize Warbond and Steeled Veterans have the launch set of seven, and nearly every new premium Warbond adds one. There's a booster roughly every two pages.
  • How to equip them: before deploying, in the mission briefing, use the hexagon slot next to your stratagem loadout.
  • The rules: one Booster per player, effects stack across the team, but two players cannot equip the same Booster on one mission — so squads should coordinate four different ones.

The launch seven (all still staples): Hellpod Space Optimization (full ammo/health on drop — the default pick), Vitality Enhancement (injury resistance), Stamina Enhancement (sprint/stamina), Expert Extraction Pilot (faster extraction), Experimental Infusion (stim bonuses), UAV Recon Booster (map pings), and Flexible Reinforcement Budget (extra reinforcements on low difficulties). Later Warbonds added picks like Armed Resupply Pods and Firebomb Hellpods.

The Hellpod Space Optimization default

If you're new, take Hellpod Space Optimization on almost every mission — full magazines and stims on every drop means you stop wasting the first minutes of every mission hunting ammo. Our solo guide and the stratagem guide both build around it.

What's Next for the Super Destroyer

Arrowhead confirmed (per PC Gamer's coverage of the 2026 roadmap) that the Super Destroyer is getting a bigger overhaul: the ship module system is being reworked into a more personalized progression path, and entirely new ship types are in development — "each new ship will have their own unique progression paths, specializations and customizations," per the studio's newly formed ship team. Combined with the level cap raising to 300, the ship is set to become a much deeper part of the game through 2026–2027.

Frequently Asked Questions

What can you do on the Super Destroyer in Helldivers 2?

Change weapons/armor/emotes (Armory), buy stratagems and Ship Modules (Ship Management), spend Medals and Super Credits (Acquisition Center), track Galactic Campaigns (Control Center, added June 2026) and launch missions (Bridge).
