Conan Exiles DLC Guide: Every DLC & What's Worth Buying

Conan Exiles has one expansion and a long shelf of cosmetic packs, and the buying question has a surprisingly clean answer: the only DLC that changes gameplay is Isle of Siptah — everything else is armour, building and weapon skins tied to a theme. That makes the purchase decision about two things: whether you want a second map, and whether a building aesthetic is worth money to you. This guide breaks down every DLC, what each one actually adds, the community verdict on each, and why the Bazaar (the in-game coin shop) is the one purchase to think twice about.

Here's what you'll learn:

  • Isle of Siptah: the only expansion, what it adds, and who it's for
  • Every cosmetic building/armour pack, grouped by theme
  • The religion pack that changes the game (Derketo)
  • Pre-order exclusives you can no longer get
  • The Bazaar and its coins — the community's #1 warning
  • Whether any DLC is required to play Enhanced

Isle of Siptah: The Only Real Expansion

Released in September 2020, Isle of Siptah is Conan Exiles' only full expansion, and it's the one DLC the community unanimously recommends:

  • A new 53 km² map — a storm-wracked island with its own progression, separate from the Exiled Lands.
  • New mechanics — the Maelstrom storm system, Surges of Sorcery (wave-based events at leyshrine altars that spawn enemies and loot), and Vaults — big endgame dungeons with unique loot.
  • New resources — notably Eldarium, which feeds the Legendary Repair economy and several endgame recipes.
  • New gear and building — the Stormglass building set (a favourite among builders) and Siptah-exclusive armour.
  • Rhino mounts — the wiki's Mount page is explicit that rhinos are rideable "only if the player has the Isle of Siptah DLC".

The community verdict across every "which DLC is best" thread on r/ConanExiles is the same: Siptah is the only must-buy, and even then only after you've played the Exiled Lands. It's a different progression experience (resource distribution, threat level, no easy river start), so it's an "add it when you want more" purchase, not a day-one one. The Enhanced update (May 2026) also connected the two maps, so your Siptah DLC now also means your Exiled Lands character can reach Siptah content in the same world — see our gameplay overview for how the merged world works.

Per the official Downloadable Content wiki page, the DLC catalogue is split between "paid, cosmetic content" packs and the Isle of Siptah expansion — the wiki is explicit that the cosmetic packs are "exclusive to the DLC" but that "DLCs require the base game to be purchased in order to function".

The Cosmetic Packs: Every Theme, What It Adds

Beyond Siptah, the DLCs are themed armour + weapons + building sets, reskins of the existing mechanical tiers. The full catalogue (all verified against the official wiki):

DLC Theme What you get
The Imperial East Pack Khitan (release: June 22, 2018) Khitan armour, weapons and building set — the classic "Eastern" aesthetic
The Riddle of Steel Steel weapons & armour Weapon/armour-themed pack with gladiator-style gear
Blood and Sand Arena/gladiator Arena-themed armour, weapons and building pieces
Debaucheries of Derketo Derketo religion The Derketo religion (a real gameplay unlock: altar, priest thralls, avatar) plus themed gear
Architects of Argos Ancient Greece The builder favourite: vaulted ceilings, inverted slopes, multi-part pillars — "the best building DLC" per the community
The Jewel of the West Aquilonia Aquilonian armour, weapons and ornate building set
Seekers of the Dawn Stygian desert Stygian-themed gear and building
The Savage Frontier Nordheimer/Vanir Northern armour, building, pet skins
Treasures of Turan Turanian Turanian armour, weapons, building and pet skins
People of the Dragon Khitan dragons Dragon-themed armour, weapons, building and pet skins

None of these raise your stats or unlock better gear than the base game — a tier-3 DLC wall has exactly the same health as a tier-3 base wall. The one gameplay exception on the list is Debaucheries of Derketo, which adds the Derketo religion itself (covered in our religion guide).

Pre-order exclusives — Conan's Atlantean Sword (physical Day One edition) and Conan's Royal Armor (digital pre-order / Early Access owners) — are gone for good; the wiki confirms they're no longer obtainable.

What the Community Says Is Worth It

The consensus from the "are the DLCs worth it" threads:

  • Isle of Siptah — the only clear yes. New map, new mechanics, rhino mounts, Eldarium.
  • Architects of Argos — the builders' pick. The inverted-slope roofs, vaulted ceilings and multi-part pillars are unique pieces you can't get elsewhere, and they combine well with the Jewel of the West set for Greco-Roman builds.
  • Debaucheries of Derketo — worth it if you want the religion; otherwise a cosmetic pack like the rest.
  • The rest — buy only if the aesthetic genuinely appeals. The honest r/ConanExiles line: "If you are just a builder, get whatever DLC fits your aesthetic; if you only want content, buy Siptah and nothing else."

Also note the Year bundles (Year 1/2/3 DLC bundles) — if you want several packs, the bundle price beats buying individually, and the game frequently goes on sale with the DLC stack heavily discounted.

Check the bundle price before buying packs individually

The community threads repeatedly flag the same mistake: buying three or four packs separately when the Year bundle (or a sale-stacked Complete Edition) costs less. Steam sales have historically discounted the whole DLC catalogue together — wishlist the bundles, not single packs.

The Bazaar: The Shop to Skip

The Lotus Bazaar (opened 2023) is Conan Exiles' in-game cosmetic shop: armour and building cosmetics sold for Crown coins, bought with real money. The community verdict is unusually consistent — "generally be avoided", in the words of the top r/ConanExiles thread, because of the coin-to-price ratio and the way pieces are rotated so you can't buy a full set at once. The Bazaar has no gameplay content; it's purely cosmetics, and several community favourites (like some rhino variants) are Bazaar-only. Buy Bazaar cosmetics if you love the look — but go in knowing the exchange rate is worse than any DLC pack.

Do You Need Any DLC to Play Enhanced?

No. Conan Exiles Enhanced (the free UE5 upgrade) and the Legacy of the Giant-Kings content are base-game updates — the 2.0.0 Cyclopean Halls dungeon and Legendary Repair system are free for everyone. DLCs only add maps, cosmetics and (in Derketo's case) one religion. If you're starting fresh in 2026: buy the base game, play the Exiled Lands, and add Siptah when you want more map. The mod scene can scratch most cosmetic itches on private servers too — see our best mods guide for building-set alternatives.

FAQ

Is Isle of Siptah worth buying in 2026? Yes — it's the only DLC the community universally recommends: a new 53 km² map, the Maelstrom and Surge mechanics, Vault dungeons, Eldarium, the Stormglass building set and rhino mounts. The caveat: play the Exiled Lands first; Siptah is a different, harder progression.

Do Conan Exiles DLCs give a gameplay advantage? Almost never. All packs except Isle of Siptah are cosmetic reskins (same mechanical stats), and the only real gameplay unlock in a pack is the Derketo religion from Debaucheries of Derketo. Siptah adds the new map, Eldarium and rhino mounts.

How many DLCs does Conan Exiles have? One expansion (Isle of Siptah) and ten-plus cosmetic packs — Imperial East, Riddle of Steel, Blood and Sand, Debaucheries of Derketo, Architects of Argos, Jewel of the West, Seekers of the Dawn, Savage Frontier, Treasures of Turan and People of the Dragon — plus two long-unavailable pre-order exclusives and the Bazaar cosmetics.

What is the Conan Exiles Bazaar? An in-game cosmetic shop run on Crown coins bought with real money. It sells armour and building cosmetics with no gameplay content, and the community consistently warns the coin pricing is poor value compared to DLC packs.

Do I need DLCs to play Conan Exiles Enhanced? No. The Enhanced UE5 upgrade and the Legacy of the Giant-Kings story (Cyclopean Halls, Legendary Repair) are free base-game content. DLCs add maps, cosmetics and the Derketo religion — nothing is required.
