All Beast of Reincarnation Bosses — Nushi, Weaknesses & Order
Beast of Reincarnation's boss roster is built around the Nushi — the giant regional beasts whose powers you capture via Boss Stealing — plus elite Malefact fights and golem challenges. The community boss lists (Eurogamer's full list, Game8's boss table, and OSLink's location guide) consistently document around 10 Nushi across the game, with several boss fights appearing more than once at higher levels.
This guide covers every confirmed boss, their weaknesses, and how the fights actually work.

What Is a Nushi?
A Nushi is a regional giant beast — the boss of its zone. The gameplay loop around them is the game's signature:
- Find and fight the Nushi in its region
- Defeat it to trigger Boss Stealing — capture its power
- Unlock the Nushi's power as a custom loadout for future fights
Nushi fights are two-phase: the first phase is a normal fight with a visible health bar, and the second phase is the capture sequence, which fails if you die. Elemental weaknesses matter enormously — matching your weapon to the weakness is the difference between a five-minute fight and a twenty-minute one.
The Full Boss List (in Encounter Order)
| Boss | Type | First appears | Weakness | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Rangifer | Nushi (deer) | Ch1 Lv9, again Lv12 | Flame | The tutorial Nushi, fought twice in Chapter 1; rematch at Lv32 in Ch5 — the game's difficulty checkpoint |
| Lacerta | Nushi | Early game | (element varies) | Second Nushi; introduces multi-phase patterns |
| Shido & Nue | Nushi pair | ~Lv20 | Poison | The poison-weak double fight the community poison build is named after; both halves must fall |
| Taurus | Nushi | ~Lv26 | Acid | Later elite Nushi with heavy damage patterns |
| Corvus | Nushi | Mid game | Light | Aerial-heavy fight where Koo's ranged ammo matters most |
| Male Purifier | Elite Malefact | Mid game | — | Escort/guard fight in the purifier line |
| Nue Malefact | Malefact | Mid game | — | Malefact variant of the Nue fight pattern |
| Crimson Malefact | Malefact | Late game | — | Endgame Malefact elite |
| The final Nushi | Nushi | Final chapter | (see below) | The climax fight — spoiler detail in the ending guide |
Level values (Rangifer Lv9/Lv12/Lv32, Shido & Nue Lv20, Taurus Lv26) come from Game8's boss table and OSLink's location guide. Weakness coverage is partial in the sources — where a boss's weakness isn't documented consistently, we've marked it rather than inventing it. The reliable pattern is: the game telegraphs weaknesses via bestiary entries and elemental Nushi patterns — check the bestiary before each fight.
Nushi Encounter Strategy (Works for All of Them)
Every Nushi fight follows the same playbook once you understand it:
- Check the bestiary for the weakness before engaging — equip the matching sword element and Koo's matching ammo
- Enter with a full belly — cooked food buffs are the difference in long fights
- Phase 1: learn the patterns, keep stamina — Nushi telegraphs heavy attacks; the game rewards dodging over tanking
- Phase 2 (capture): survive — the capture sequence fails on death, so the priority flips from damage to survival
- Collect the loadout — the captured power is the reward that matters more than the drops
Emma handles aggro and applies the element; Koo keeps DPS up at range and hits the weak points Emma can't reach. In the aerial fights (Corvus and later Malefacts), Koo's ammo is the difference between a clean fight and a long one.
The Hardest Bosses, Per Community Consensus
- Rangifer (Ch5, Lv32 rematch) — the difficulty checkpoint. The game assumes you've activated shrines, found campsites, and captured Nushi powers; if you skipped them, this fight is the wall. Survival-first builds smooth it dramatically
- Shido & Nue — the double fight forces you to split attention; the poison build exists specifically because of this fight
- The final boss — mechanically the densest fight in the game; the ending guide covers the story stakes, and the best build guide has the loadouts that carry you through
