Riven mods are Warframe's endgame trading commodity: weapon-specific mods with random stats. A good Riven can resurrect a niche weapon; a "god roll" can sell for thousands of Platinum. What Is a Riven?

  • Source: completing The War Within questline grants one; later drops come from Sorties, the Steel Path Circuit, Arbitration, Cephalon Simaris, Palladino (the anvil), Acrithis and more
  • Stats: random rolls (base damage/crit/multishot/elemental — 2–3 stats plus a negative), bound to a single weapon (variants included), can't equip two Rivens for the same weapon
  • State: drops come "Veiled" — complete the unveiling challenge (e.g. "finish X mission without taking damage") to reveal the stats
  • Capacity: 15 Riven slots at start; +3 slots cost 60 Platinum up to 180; MR 30 adds another +30 (210 total)
Your first Riven

Slot it on your main weapon or sell it — don't burn Kuva on a bad roll. Failed unveiling challenges don't consume the Riven; retry freely.

Kuva Rerolls

Dissatisfied with the stats? Reroll with Kuva: first roll 900 Kuva, scaling up, capped at 3,500 per roll. Kuva sources: Kuva Siphons, Kuva Floods, Steel Path, Kuva Lich content. Rerolls change only the stats — the bound weapon and disposition stay put.

Rerolling is a rabbit hole

Chasing "perfect 3 stats + ideal negative" burns tens of thousands of Kuva on average. Sensible play: define 1–2 core stats (multishot + base damage, say), and stop when you hit them. Rivens are a bonus, not a graduation requirement — build fundamentals live in the builds guide.

Disposition and Pricing

Disposition is the core Riven price variable: DE dynamically tunes it by weapon popularity — popular weapons get weaker Riven bonuses (low disposition), niche weapons get stronger (high disposition) to keep balance.

  1. Weapon popularity: Torid-tier favorites stay expensive even at low disposition (demand is huge)

  • Trade tax: Rivens count as legendary — 1,000,000 credits (paid by buyer or seller per window settlement)
  • Daily count: shares your normal daily trade limit (= Mastery Rank)

The Vosfor and Arcane Economy

Beyond Rivens, the endgame economy runs an Arcane → Vosfor chain: since Update 35 (Whispers in the Walls), surplus Arcanes can be dissolved into Vosfor by Loid (Cavia), then traded for targeted Arcanes. Vosfor sources: Deep Archimedea (28 pts +20 / 37 pts +50), Höllvania Faceoff, The Descendia (Infernum reward 50), and the six syndicates' Rank 5 stores (200-pack / 30,000 standing). Common Misconceptions

  • "Rivens are mandatory endgame": normal content needs none; only Steel Path deep-farming and boss speedkills meaningfully benefit
  • "God rolls are investments": multi-thousand-Platinum "perfect" Rivens have a tiny buyer pool and move slowly — don't treat them as assets
  • "Low disposition = worthless": popular weapons pay less per stat but demand stays high — the market still prices them
