Dinoblade Walkthrough — Biomes, Bosses & Full Route (2026)

Dinoblade is a short, dense campaign — most players roll credits in 2–6 hours — that funnels you through a series of biomes, each ending in an Alpha boss fight that gates the way forward. This walkthrough covers the campaign structure, the complete boss order, the hands-on route through the opening areas, and everything worth collecting before you finish. Spoilers ahead, as always with a walkthrough.

Here's what you'll learn:

  • How the campaign is structured (linear route, Alpha bosses as gates)
  • The complete 16-boss order, from Kira the Exile to the final fight
  • A step-by-step route through the opening Dry Canyons area
  • What the demo covered and whether your demo save carries over
  • Where the collectibles are (health ores, 7 swords, optional hunts)
  • What unlocks after the credits (Boss Rush, leaderboards)
  • Realistic playtime expectations for main story vs 100%

Campaign Structure: Linear Biomes, Alpha Gates

Dinoblade is not an open world. The marketing says "sprawling," but the campaign is a focused linear route through distinct biomes, with a few optional side paths per area. Each biome ends with an Alpha — an apex predator that guards the path forward.

The confirmed biome lineup (5 total, per achievement and hands-on coverage):

  1. Dry Canyons — the opening area (desert canyons, waterfalls, caves)
  2. Dense forests / jungles — misty, fog-soaked terrain
  3. Snow-covered fields — the late-game frozen region
  4. Red Ashe's Swamp — the penultimate biome, with optional hard bosses
  5. The ruins / final stretch — leading to the endgame and the Meteor

Per the official Dinoblade Steam page, the game's areas "range from dry canyons to dense, mist-shrouded jungles," and "defeat the final boss to unlock the ultimate Boss Rush Mode."

The result is a boss-focused campaign with little dead time between fights — exactly what players who came for the dinosaur duels want. Defeated boss arenas stay empty (no farming), so exploration and optional routes matter more than grind. For a broader look at the game's identity, see our Dinoblade wiki overview.

The Complete Boss Order (16 Fights)

Dinoblade has 16 distinct boss fights: 14 story checkpoints, one optional boss, and one secret boss — plus six optional sauropod hunts on top. This order is verified from no-hit boss runs and hands-on walkthroughs (Esoterickk's all-bosses run, intoindiegames walkthrough hub):

# Boss Notes
1 Kira, the Exile First boss; teaches deflects and Instinct Counters
2 Axe Serrated-axe duelist; spinning combos
3 Kasei the Tyrant T-Rex; two phases, picks up a greatsword below 33% HP
4 Shield Mid-game checkpoint
5 Haku Mid-game checkpoint
6 Tank Heavy-bodied fight
7 Mokusei the Titan One of the largest encounters
8 Stick Optional boss
9 Speed Fast duelist-style fight
10 Ketsuro Mid-game checkpoint
11 Dosei the Giant Claw Claw-focused encounter
12 Reaper & Shade Dual boss
13 Horn Ceratopsian, fought in a foggy meadow
14 Red Ash Penultimate biome boss; hitboxes patched post-launch
15 Akai Tsuki, the Blood Moon Secret boss (True Form variant included)
16 Maakyuurii, the Ice King Final boss; ends with "Destroy the Meteor"
The 8-track soundtrack is the roster hint

The official "Boss Theme Collection" (Bandcamp) contains 8 tracks — The Tyrant, The Titan, The Giant Claw, The Blood Moon, The True Form, The Ice King, The Flame Reborn, and The Great Cataclysm — covering the main bosses plus the credits. The full 16-fight count includes optional and secret encounters on top.

Full strategies for every fight — phases, punish windows and recommended play — live in the all bosses guide.

Part 1: The Opening (Dry Canyons — Kira, the Exile)

The opening route is the same one the demo covered, and it doubles as the tutorial:

  1. Watch the intro cutscene, pick up the flaming greatsword.
  2. Complete the tutorial: block/deflect, light attack combos, sprint/dodge, lock-on, healing charges, charge attacks.
  3. Clear the cavern — small dinosaurs rush you; you'll hit level 1 here. Save at the first Save Stone.
  4. Cross the waterfall (Charge Attack tutorial: 5 Resonance + stamina), follow the moon to the next Save Stone, go right.
  5. Learn the Instinct Counter mechanic on the approach.
  6. Fight Kira, the Exile — avoid his three-hit combo and charge-explosion, and use full-Resolve parries to trigger the massive Instinct Counter. See the beginners guide for the full opening walkthrough.
  7. Victory unlocks the Summoning system and Soul Arts (purchased with Boss SP).

Part 2: The Northern Paths — Axe

Head north; you'll find a Save Stone with SP on the ground to the left. The route passes several waterfalls, arches, and hidden SP pickups — including one inside a giant skull on the right. Enemies escalate: raptors (one of the two feasting near a waterfall wields a blue scythe), hammer-wielding dinosaurs, and scythe fighters. Before the boss you'll read the tutorial for unblockable attacks.

Axe is a melee duelist: he does a side slash into a jumping attack (small AoE on landing — dodge roll away), a spinning three-swing combo (the last swing is the easiest to parry), and a diagonal-slash combo with little backswing. Punish his landings, absorb his soul, and continue.

Part 3: The Mountain Caves — Kasei the Tyrant

Behind the waterfall and through the mountain caves, you'll fight waves of hammer-wielding dinosaurs before reaching the arena of Kasei the Tyrant — the demo's final boss and the game's first real wall.

  • Phase 1: opening unblockable 360° tail swipe + fireball; jump-slam with AoE flame; a slow telegraphed charge-jump-slam; two horizontal swipes.
  • Phase 2 (below ~33% HP): Kasei drops the carcass he was using as a weapon (yes — he fights with an Ankylosaurus) and picks up a greatsword. He gains a gap-closing charge-slam-swing (the follow-up has a clash window), a parryable jump-slash, and a sword-throw into a ground slam (dodge the sword, then dodge right).

Stay at his flank, dodge red-glint moves, and punish his recoveries. Absorbing his soul opens the path to the next area — and in the full game, that's where the documented hands-on route ends. Everything past Kasei follows the same biome → Alpha rhythm.

The Demo Route & Save Transfer

The free demo (October 28, 2025 launch, 97% positive from 3,300+ reviews at peak — TechTimes) covered the entire Dry Canyons route: Kira → Axe → Kasei, roughly the first third of the campaign's checkpoints. The demo is no longer listed on the store page, and players have been asking for it back on the forums — but if you bought the full game after playing it, your demo save transfers over, so you don't have to replay the opening. (There's a community guide on the Steam hub covering the exact save-transfer steps; keep a backup of your save files before moving them.)

Collectibles: Health Ores, 7 Swords, Red Souls

Exploration is the only grind in Dinoblade, and it's optional but powerful:

  • 3 Health/Max-Heal ores — permanently boost your healing charges; documented in the first, second and fourth zones (community guide: "locations of the three health ores found in the first, second, and fourth zones"). Treat the exact spots as roughly documented, not mapped.
  • 7 legendary swords — collectible weapons beyond the starter greatsword; the completionist goal (one achievement tracks all seven). Each Alpha kill also unlocks a new blade with a distinct property (shockwaves, wider arcs, faster strings).
  • Red Souls — scattered pickups along the route (some hidden between rocks, inside skulls, on elevated paths).
  • 6 optional sauropod hunts — the "Silencing the Earthquakes" achievement chain, separate from the main boss roster.

Endgame: Boss Rush & 100%

After the credits (and the final boss's "Destroy the Meteor" sequence), you unlock Boss Rush Mode — a gauntlet of consecutive boss fights, tracked on Steam leaderboards. It's the game's real endgame: most players who finish the campaign keep coming back for Boss Rush runs, and it's required for the 100% achievement.

For playtime planning:

Goal Time
Main path only ~2–3 hours
Typical playthrough (26/29 achievements) ~6 hours
Full completion (all bosses, collectibles, Boss Rush) 8+ hours

Community reports cluster around the same numbers: one review puts the credits at "less than 6 hours," a 26/29 achievement player finished at exactly 6 hours, and the median completion time on achievement trackers is ~8.5 hours. If you're deciding whether the length is worth $19.99, see the beginners guide verdict — the Boss Rush mode is designed to make it replayable.

Frequently Asked Questions

How many chapters are in Dinoblade?

The campaign has no formal chapter names, but it's structured as 5 biomes (Dry Canyons → forests/jungles → snow fields → Red Ashe's Swamp → the final stretch), each ending in an Alpha boss. The full run is 16 boss fights plus 6 optional sauropod hunts.

What is the boss order in Dinoblade?

Kira the Exile → Axe → Kasei the Tyrant → Shield → Haku → Tank → Mokusei the Titan → Stick (optional) → Speed → Ketsuro → Dosei the Giant Claw → Reaper & Shade → Horn → Red Ash → Akai Tsuki the Blood Moon (secret) → Maakyuurii the Ice King (final).

How long is a full Dinoblade playthrough?

2–3 hours for a focused main-path run, ~6 hours for a typical playthrough, 8+ hours for 100% including collectibles and Boss Rush.

Does the Dinoblade demo save carry over to the full game?

Yes — demo progress transfers to the full game, so you don't replay the Dry Canyons opening. Follow the community save-transfer guide on the Steam hub and back up your saves first.

What should I do after beating Dinoblade?

You unlock Boss Rush Mode (consecutive boss gauntlet with leaderboards), and can clean up the 7 swords, health ores, optional sauropod hunts and the secret Akai Tsuki fight for the remaining achievements.
